Faull’s Shoes remains a privately owned, family-run company with a proud heritage spanning more than 100 years, continuing its tradition through branded retail stores and online operations.
Faull’s Shoes first opened in Ballarat in 1910 at 62 Bridge Street, founded by Thomas George Faull. In 1916, the business moved to its current location at 20 Bridge Mall, which continues today as both the flagship retail store and head office.
Thomas’s son, Alan Faull, joined the business in 1931. Despite the challenges of World War II, the business endured and continued to grow. In the early 1970s, Alan’s youngest son, John Faull, became Managing Director, and in 1994 the company entered a significant expansion phase.
During this period, Faull’s expanded into comfort footwear with the opening of a Kumfs Comfort Shoes store in Geelong. The Ballarat store was later divided to also operate under the Kumfs Comfort Shoes banner in Little Bridge Street. Further expansion followed with a second Geelong store in 1995, and in 1999 two additional stores were established in Tasmania—Hobart and Launceston. The final Faull’s store acquisition took place in Warrnambool in 2007, bringing the network to five retail locations.
As retail evolved, Faull’s embraced e-commerce, developing online stores to complement its physical locations. The brand continues to invest in keeping its digital presence fresh, engaging, and up to date, supported by active communication across social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
